Here’s another deleted scene from the Vault of drafts. This one is probably the most precious of the ones I have because this is the one that paved the way for Bunny and Cole’s story, Irresistible Desire. This specific scene is set later in Reckless Sin, after Nathan gets shot. He and Karina are at his place with Bunny, and someone special makes an appearance.

Karina POV
Banessa got up from the couch and glanced at the wall with the tapestry hanging off, revealing Nathan’s research. Her finger tapped on a photo, the only photo Nathan put up of Cole. He’d said it was taken the day Daniel was going to get married. The day the before he and Daniel stopped being close. Right beside it was the digits Cole scratched down onto a piece of paper.
The same number I was sure Banessa was punching into her phone. Ringing came from the speaker and soon enough it came to a stop.
“Hello?” The familiar voice echoed through the room. I drifted my attention to Nathan. His eyes wide, staring in the direction of Banessa’s phone.
“Cole?” It was Banessa who asked.
“Is this Karina Vasiliev?”
“No, just a friend of hers who thinks you look pretty hot in this picture.” She chuckled softly.
Nathan’s fingers curled into a fist. His eyes drifted down to his feet. I wondered what was going through his mind, hearing someone he thought had been dead for over a year….
“Right, we’ll do you mind telling her I’m a little upset she didn’t tell me when he woke up because I came back only to be told he was released five days ago.”
“She’s been preoccupied, your brother is a lot to handle.”
“I take it he’s standing there?”
I looked over to Banessa who glanced at Nathan. “Yup. Pissed off by the looks of it. You have a lot of explaining to do.”
“Yeah, I know. That’s why I’m outside the door.”
Without hesitation, Nathan turned too quick.”Fuck.”
He grumbled as his hands flew up to the healing wound. I headed out to him with a sigh and grabbed one of his hands. I pulled him over to the couch and sat him down.
“You can’t just move like that Nathan. You’re still healing.”
“Yeah idiot listen to her.” Cole called out from the speaker.
Banessa let out a breath and tossed the phone on my lap as she walked past us. I listened as the door opened. I could only assume she was eying him up and down beforehand.
“Never knew Nathan had a brother.” I heard her say.
“I’m on a need to know kind of basis.”
“Interesting because I need to know you.”
Cole chuckled without responding back to Banessa. Footsteps made their way into the living room. I looked up, catching the same man from the other day. A smirk twitched at the corner of his lip as he looked in my direction, but his attention was on Nathan who stared back at him.
