Hi, I’m Darlene
Come on in, feel free to sit.
Darlene is a spoonie living with disabilities and chronic pain. Has playlists for all her stories that consist of at least one, or more, Fall Out Boy songs. She’ll break out in song lyrics, talk about herself in third person, answer close friend messages with gifs, and let’s not forget her current food fixation for Oreos.
She’s not a tea or coffee girl, but she loves listening to tea, chisme, or bochinche.
She’ll even join in and share some. Maybe even just chat about anything and everything in between. She loves to talk to people, but sometimes feels like she doesn’t know how to communicate or like she’s a bother.
Oh, and did I mention she’s also Puerto Rican?
She doesn’t live there, though. No, she lives in New England with her partner. Sadly, no pets or kids.
But somewhere, along the wounds she’s still working through, fears she’s trying to overcome, and misbeliefs she needs to prove wrong, she found a pen.
Writing has always been part of her life—weaving its way into the crevices of her heart. It’s her way of breathing, speaking, bleeding, marking her soul onto paper and sharing parts of herself with others.
As a true romance girl at heart, Darlene is obsessed with happily ever afters. She loves stories that are a little too chaotic, sometimes filled with drama, and of course she can’t forget about complicated characters.
She believes writing and other creative forms are a way to connect with others. A way to see themselves in the stories and feel a little less alone.
And if you’re here, maybe she’s already done that.
Maybe you’ve found a piece of yourself in these words. Maybe she found someone to share them with.
